For process heating application, BABA-THERM liquid heater can be substituted against steam or electricity.
Instead of pressurized hot water or steam, the BABA-THERM product uses Thermic fluids for heat transfer.
Simple closed circuit system is used. Temperatures upto 300° C can be obtained with an accuracy of ± 1%, at a low working pressure of 2.5 kg/cm (approx.).
The BABA-THERM product is designed on the coil type once through, forced circulation principle to use the heat transfer fluids without risk of chemical degradation.
Design And COnstruction:
The internal combustion is used to accommodate concentric helical tube machine wound coil, (fabricated out of ERW Boiler tube as per 3059). This coil is placed in a double shell of mid steel construction. This type of design helps in economizing the space and simultaneously ensures optimum rate of heat release.
Due to elimination of extensive use of refractory, it permits rapid start up and operational and maintenance flexibility.
The complete BABA-THERM product is supplied in a shop assembled and ready to install condition.
Only the chimney, fuel and thermic fluid pipelines have to be connected.
COMBUSTION:
A fuel atomizing pressure-jet burner fitted with fuel oil nozzle from "MONARCH" (USA) is placed vertically downward for combustion. A dynamically balanced blower fan pushes the combustion air through the annular space between the inner and outer shell, where air is pre-heated for efficient combustion and higher efficiency. The air acts as an effective thermal insulator eliminating the need for conventional insulation. Near the tip of burner, air is swirled through a stainless steel diffuser plate and mixes with atomized fuel which achieve combustion in the furnace.
BURNER AND FUEL SYSTEM:
From fuel tank the oil goes to a fuel filter then into a fuel pump. Through the fuel pump it is passed into an electrically heated oil pre-heated tank (this is in case of F.O.) and then forced to burner. The thermic fluid heater is supplied with pressure-jet burner of highly compact rugged and simple design. The burner is fully automatic in operation and switches ON and OFF as per the process heat requirements.

The BABA-THERM product is outside the purview of INDIAN BOILER REGULATIONS since no steam is generated. No statutory inspections are required eliminating the need for a shut-down of the process. There is no need for a separate boiler house or even a qualified attendant.

BABA-THERM product is a fully automatic thermic fluid heater fitted with safety devices like high fluid temperature switch, pressure switch, low level switch in expansion tank, spring loaded safety valve, high stack temperature switch, flame sensor, low fuel oil temperature switch and circulating pump motor interlock.
The unattended operation is possible due to efficient design and highly reliable instruments from reputed manufacturers like Landis & Gyr (Germany), Monarch (USA), Danfoss (Denmark), Larsen & Toubrol, NGEF, Crompton, Kirloskar, Salzer, Finolex, Bells, Tata/TI, Indfoss etc.
A dust proof pre wired control panel housing MCBs, overload relay, contactors, safety alarms, temperature controllers and sequence controllers has audio-visual alarms for abnormal working conditions.

DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION:
Heater Assembly consists of a nest of concentric helical tube coils placed within a sturdy MS shell. The concentric coils fabricated out of Boiler tube suitable for high temp. application allow flue pass to ensure maximum heat dissipation.
After each path of the flue gas centrifugal fly ash setting chambers are provided by which fly ash is collected preventing soot deposition on heat transfer surface of the heater.
This always ensures optimum heat transfer and minimum cleaning. For easy installation, the heater complete with all standard accessories is mounted on sturdy steel frame.

| EXTERNAL FURNACE |

Coal/Lignite and other Solid Fuel is burnt in an external furnace which results in an elimination of any possible hazard to the Thermic Fluid Heater coil. A Fuel by-pass system is attached for the protection against power failure. The entire furnace is provided with steel casing and combustion chamber is constructed with best quality high heat fire bricks and insulation bricks.
