Chroma- Ator started its operations as “Prashant Generator Co.” in 1995 in the business of Diesel Generator rentals. Chroma Power Systems India Private Limited has shown tremendous growth since 1995 and reached a turnover of Rs. 200 million in FY’2010. All along Chroma Power Systems India Private Limited has stuck to its core business of providing solution in the backup power industry. In the year 1999-2000, PGC earned the best sales & service dealers of Kirloskar Briggs & Stratton power equipment. PGC started with own CPCB approved Gensets unit in the year 2006. As Original Equipment manufacturer for Mahindra & Mahindra, PGC manufactured Diesel Generator sets powered by Mahindra till March, 2009 and installed around 4000 sets till 2009. Thereafter, they started using Escorts, Isuzu Technology (Birla Group), TATA, & Ricardo Technology, CEL engines to power the generator sets and sold them under the brand name Chroma-Ator.
On 1st January2012, Chroma Power Systems India Private Limited has transferred all marketing activities including Marketing, Sales, R&D etc. , other than pure manufacturing to Chroma-Ator. Chroma-Ator will outsource Generators manufacturing to Chroma Power Systems India Private Limited on a contract manufacturing basis whereas Chroma Power Systems India Private Limited will work as an exclusive supplier to Chroma-Ator.
