Product Description:
 
Ribbon Blenders are the most commonly used blenders. The products to be mixed constantly circulate from end to end, making the ribbon blender particularly good for blending minor additives in a mix. The agitator consists of an outer ribbon that moves the product from each end while the inner ribbon moves the product to each end. The agitator design lends itself to mixing low-density free flowing products with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy. Fresco ribbon blenders are available in single, double or triple ribbons with either end or central discharge. The close tolerance of the ribbon to the body ensures nearly 100% product discharge.

Operations : Ribbon Blenders consist of a U-shaped horizontal trough and a specially fabricated ribbon agitator. A ribbon agitator consists of a set of inner and outer helical blades. The outer ribbon moves materials toward the center of the trough, and the inner ribbon moves the materials toward the outside of the trough. The ribbon also rotates at approx. 300 fpm, thus moving materials both radially and laterally to insure thorough blends in short cycle times. Ribbon agitators are used for blends that will be between 40 and 100% of the rated capacity of the blender.
