Low Operating Costs, Trouble Free Operation:

Micronics is dedicated to the design and development of high quality, cost effective filter press machinery.

The filter press is a diverse and versatile piece of equipment boasting many uses. It has been utilized by a plethora of industries since as far back as the mid-1800s. Though they were originally designed for clay, filter presses are widely used in the food industry, the pharmaceutical industry, mining, and in waste management. The filter press is an ideal system, as it assures the highest quality of work, all the while being completely cost effective.
So what exactly is a filter press and how does it work? A filter press is used to separate liquids and solids. Slurry (a combination of solids and liquids) is fed into the machine, after which a moving plate clamps a series of filter plates together, most commonly via a hydraulic system. The filters are usually made from cloth, though some separation applications use paper. The liquid contained in the slurry passes through the cloth and discharges through pipework, leaving the solids behind. The solids form “filter cakes” in between the plates, which can then be discarded, further processed using wash liquors, heating, vacuum, or air, leaving you with your filtered product. In some cases the filter cake is the end product, in other cases the filtrate and it can be both filtrate and filter cake.
Micronics offers a wide variety of options to suit your needs. Whether you are looking for a simple, small manually operated machine or a larger fully automatic operation, we can get you set up with a standard filter press, or a press customized to your specifications. We will even install it. If you have an existing filter press, we will happily refurbish and service it, regardless of the original manufacturer.
Micronics has provided clients with top notch customer service since 1983, and continues to be a name that you can count on. If you have any questions regarding your filter press or its pieces, you can find answers on our FAQ. single and twin beam overhead design frameworks.
Sidebar and single beam models may have manual plate
movement. Sidebar and twin beam overhead frameworks
are available with hydraulic plate shifters.

SPECIAL FILTER PRESSES:
Fully automatic filter presses operated by a local PLC or customers DCS close/filter and discharge cake without operator intervention. The filters are available with a variety of protection including, polypropylene, stainless steel, titanium cladding, full enclosure with or without venting systems. Many custom designs can be accommodated to suit our customers’ needs. For special conditions consult with a Micronics representative.

VACUUM FILTER PRESSES
Vacuum assisted filtration using Micronics HHT – high heat transfer – plates makes filtration and cake drying one easy step. Filter cakes may be produced with this automated filter press system to any cake dryness target required. Using heated water and vacuum coupled with a patented vacuum to atmosphere control results in quicker cycle times than with conventional vacuum systems.

SMALL TO MEDIUM CAPACITY FILTER PRESSES

Micronics has produced various types of smaller
filter presses to suit particular applications.
These Filter Presses range in size from 250mm to
930mm and can filter from 0.5 to 50 cubic ft (14
to 1415 liters). Manual plate movement machines
are the least expensive.
