Block Graphite Heat Exchangers - YK series:

 
The main reason for employing block type graphite heat exchangers is their great flexibility. Block Graphite Heat Exchangers can be used for all heat transfer and mass transfer process involving corrosive media. Structure Characteristic of Block Graphite Heat Exchangers:

Heat transfer takes place in solid graphite blocks with a crosswise arrangement of drilled flow passages for the process and service side. The size of the graphite blocks and the passage diameters vary according to the application and type of graphite chemical equipment concerned. Several graphite blocks are assembled to form a graphite column, which provides the required heat transfer area in a single unit. The graphite blocks are arranged in such a way that the product passages aligns with one another. As a result, corrosive medium flows through the axial passages. The service medium in the steel or graphite shell space passes through the horizontal passages. A flexible baffle cage produces forced flow deflection on the service side.

Application of Block Graphite Heat Exchangers:
 
Since block graphite heat exchangers are compact and very adaptable, Block graphite heat exchangers are mainly used as:
- Overhead graphite condensers and graphite coolers, e.g. on absorption and separation columns
- Steel pickling line heaters
- Reactor coolers
- Ventilation graphite condensers and graphite coolers on agitators and reaction vessels
- Circulation coolers for quenchers
- Preheater for evaporators
 
Shell and Tube Graphite Heat Exchangers - GH series:
 
The standard shell and tube graphite heat exchangers comprises a steel shell enclosing a graphite tube bundle fitted with end covers. Because of the differences in their coefficients of thermal expansion, (steel expands 2-3 times as much as graphite) the differential expansion between the steel shell and the graphite tube bundle is taken up by the externally packed floating tube sheet. This compensate expansion and contraction of the shell over the graphite tube bundle. 
The graphite tube bundle is held in the shell by the stud holding the fixed tube sheet to the fixed end shell flange. These bolts remain in place to ensure that the graphite tube bundle is restrained whenever the graphite heat exchangers is in service, or subjected to pressure testing, or whenever the graphite heat exchangers is moved. The fixed end cover is fixed to the fixed tube sheet by the stud between the pressure plate and the fixed end shell flange. 
The floating end cover is held against the floating tube sheet by the stud between the pressure plate and the floating tube sheet flange. This flange holds a split ring, which is located in the groove in the floating tube sheet. Floating Head Sliding Gland seals the shell and floating tube sheet employing a stuffing box.
 
Shell and Tube Graphite Heat Exchangers Specification:
 
Shell-and-tube graphite heat exchangers are constructed from the following components:
- Graphite tube in standard dimensions of 22/32, 25/37 and 36/50 mm  
- Standard graphite tube lengths up to 6 M
- Two graphite tube sheets--one fixed and the other floating, relative to the shell 
- Large heat transfer areas of Shell and Tube Graphite Heat Exchanger (over 1,000 m2)
 
On this basis, shell and tube graphite heat exchangers are used as graphite heaters, graphite coolers, graphite condensers, graphite falling film absorbers and graphite evaporators.
 
Cubic Block Graphite Heat Exchangers - JK series:
 
The Block Model is a cubic & rectangle graphite block with alternate rows of holes passing perpendicular to one another through the block as a stack structure. The graphite block is held between two clamp plates and two graphite block process headers complete with backing plates, pressure pads, studs and gaskets under a pre-set compressive load. Cubic Block Graphite Heat Exchangers have extensive use as condensers and liquid to liquid heat transfer equipments. Cubic Block Graphite Heat Exchangers advantage results from the rapid assembly and disassembly in plants. In addition, this version is very service friendly and is particularly easy to maintain.

Squirrel-cage Graphite Heat Exchanger:

Immersion Graphite Heat Exchangers can be acted as a heating or cooling part in other chemical equipment such as reactor, vessel, tank etc, which need to heat or cool the corrosive media. Immersion Graphite Heat Exchangers are often used in metal cleaning, immersion, etching, electroplating industry.

Compact Graphite Heat Exchangers:
 
Compact type graphite heat exchangers is made out of single cubic block with characteristic of robust, compact, more thermally efficient than glass coil heat exchangers, which is often used in laboratory of fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals as graphite condensers, graphite evaporators, graphite reboiler on reactors.
