Evaporator (Falling Film / Rising Film)
Product Description

Falling Film Evaporators:

COMP offers a complete range of Falling Film Evaporators that are of either single or multiple effect to ensure high heat economy.

In Falling Film Evaporators the liquid flows downwards in the form of a film along with the vapors at the core in a parallel flow. The film mechanism and low residence time makes this evaporator ideally suited to heat sensitive non-salting and non-crystallizing solutions. The liquid to be evaporated is initially pre heated to the boiling temperature and enters the heating tubes via distribution plates in the top bonnet of the evaporator. Infalling film evaporators sufficient wetting of the heating surface is very important for the heat economy and trouble free operation. The wetting rates can be increased by extending or splitting the individual evaporator effects.

COMP Falling Film Evaporators can be particularly useful when the temperature difference between the liquid to be evaporated and the heating media is low.

Vapor liquid separation is performed at the bottom of the heater in a separated vapour body for obtaining very low entrainment.

Rising Film Evaporators:

COMP offers a complete range of Rising Film Evaporators of both short and long tube design.

In Rising Film Evaporator, due to the ascending force of the vapour bubbles, which are produced during boiling, the liquid and vapours flow upwards in a parallel flow. Simultaneously the vapour quantity also increase thereby forming a "Climbing" film on the walls of a tube. Due to this there is a high turbulence in the liquid and these evaporators are advantageous for heat sensitive, highly viscous and moderately scaling liquids.

The temperature difference in the rising film evaporators should be high between the heating chest and boiling chamber to ensure the circulation and formation of a climbing film.

These evaporators are flexible enough to be converted to
Forced Circulation Evaporators.

  • Chemical Industry
  • Effluent Treatment Plants

CRITICAL DESIGN FEATURES -
  • Properly selected vapour fractions.
  • Wide data bank of coefficient from which the best possible heat transfer coefficient is selected.
  • Rest same as Falling Film Evaporator.
  • Easy removal of deposits can be achieved by increasing feed rate or reducing steam rate.
  • Special designs of vapour separators for foaming products.

Thin Film Evaporators:

We are equipped with high quality equipment along with the advanced machinery and skilled workforce that leads to its very own 100% export oriented unit for fabrication. With such an excellence and an endeavor to market proven engineering systems we bring forth our highly efficient and technically updated Thin Film Evaporators.

Our Thin film evaporators are characterized by external condensers that operate at higher pressures (1-100 mbar) and hence can be used for effective separation of large quantities of components with high volatility.

Features Of Comp Thin Film Evaporators
These are used for reducing the volume of water from the solids and to separate a mixture of liquids having different boiling points. These can be used to increase the concentration of liquids that are highly viscous or in paste / syrup forms.
  • Continuous processing
  • Heat sensitive, viscous, fouling and foaming products
  • Distillation, Separation, Concentration, Stripping, Deodorization, Degassing, Reaction
Critical Design Features Of Thin Film Evaporators
The Thin Film Evaporator consists of a jacketed or coated shell having a machined surface on the inner side. It also has a vapour nozzle that is typically arranged at the upper end of the evaporator in order to facilitate the vapours to the external condenser. The liquid flow can be of both bottom to top or top to bottom and this flow pattern depends on the fluid properties, chances of scale or crystal formation.

Further, the rotating blades of thin film evaporators make sure that no material stays on the heat transfer surface for long duration thus preventing thermal degradation.

Typical Applications
  • Food Industry
  • Chemical Industry
  • Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Environmental Protection

At Comp Engineering and Exports, we offer this premium industrial machinery to our clients with customization facility to ensure their smooth operation.

Forced Circulation Evaporators:

COMP offers a complete range of Forced Circulation Evaporators with options of crystallization and additional accessories like elutriation legs, hydrocyclones , post product centrifuge / spray dryer for crystal separation / drying.

Forced Circulation Evaporators are short tube evaporators and are ideally used when the boiling of feed liquid on the heating surfaces is to be avoided due to the salting and fouling characteristics of the liquid. Hence in these evaporators the flow velocity in the tubes is kept very high.

In forced circulation evaporators the liquid is circulated at high velocities in the tubes of the heat exchanger while steam is provided in the chest. This liquid is partially evaporated when the pressure is reduced in the vapour-liquid separator to the corresponding boiling temperature. High volume , low head axial flow circulation pumps are used for recirculating the crystal laden slurry in the evaporator and hence the operation of this evaporator is independent of the temperature difference. In the crystallizing operation crystals can be separated from the crystallizing slurry by adjusting the velocity of the circulating stream. Forced circulation evaporators are ideal for handling liquors with high viscosity or which have a tendency to salt and scale during evaporation.

FEATURES OF COMP FORCED CIRCULATION EVAPORATORS -
  • Suitable for widest variety of evaporator applications.
  • Ideal for crystallizing operation.
  • High heat transfer coefficients.
  • Positive circulation.
  • Freedom from salting, scaling and fouling.
  • Suitable for corrosive and viscous solutions.
CRITICAL DESIGN FEATURES OF FORCED CIRCULATION EVAPORATORS -
  • Optimum tube velocities
  • Type of vapour head used with the forced circulation evaporators is chosen to suit the product characteristics.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS -
  • Effluent Treatments Plants
  • Chemical Industry
  • Salt Solutions

Multi-Effect Evaporation:

Multi-Effect Evaporation is an important procedure adopted to economize the consumption of energy.

Multi Effect Evaporators are the equipment in which steam from an outside source is condensed in the heating element of first effect. The boiling temperature at which the first effect operates is high enough so that the evaporated water can serve as the heating medium for second effect. The vapors so formed are then sent to a condenser if it is a double effect evaporator.

The feed for the multi-effect type evaporator is generally transferred from one effect to another. This leads to the ultimate product concentration to reach only in the one effect of evaporator.
