Titanium Fabrication Corporation

Distillation – Column
Product Description

Distillation & Absorption Columns:

Distillation is the most widely used separation technique used today in industries such as the petrochemical, chemical plant and natural gas proccessing. Large distillation columns or distillation towers are constructed to properly house this type of industrial distillation processing.

TiFab fabricates many types of distillation columns (fractional, vacuum, azeotropic, etc.) and absorption/stripping columns for chemical, petrochemical, and gas processing plants.  A company`s distillation proccess can contribute to more than 50% of the total plant operating costs. TiFab takes this into account by producing custom distillation columns that operate at the most efficient levels possible.  Tifab only uses the highest quality materials when manufacturing thier distillation columns and absorption columns.

Materials used to construct distillation columns include the following:
  • Zirconium clad Steel
  • Hastelloys (C276, C2000, B2, B3, etc.)
  • Inconnels (Alloy 600, 625, 825, etc.)

TiFAB Distillation Columns:

We fabricate our distillation columns with both tray columns and packed columns, with internal trays and packing usually supplied by the customer (however our designs include support rings for trays or packing). TiFab builds distillation columns to meet ASME Section VIII Div 1 and 2, JIS, Stoomwezen, TUV, and the Chinese ML (formerly Chinese SQL).

All mechanical engineering design for our distillation columns are carried out in-house with several design softwares at our disposal.  (PV-Elite, CodeCalc, Compress, etc.)

Titanium, Zirconium, and Tantalum Fabricator:
Since 1972, Titanium Fabrication Corporation has specialized in the fabrication of high quality Titanium reactive metal and special alloy equipment for the non-aerospace market. TiFab has three fabrication facilities in North America strategically located to service all industrial markets: our headquarters is in Fairfield, New Jersey; our Canadian division is in Montreal; and our Texas division is in Houston. TiFab’s 3 facilities combine to over 120,000 square feet of space.

TiFab’s work is entirely customized to each specific end user. Standard products include process equipment, tankspressure vesselscolumnsheat exchangers, piping systems, rotating equipment such as fans and blowers, and mechanical equipment including centrifuges, pump bowls, mixers, and shafts. Many unique fabrications like the Titanium frame for the Alvin submarine, a helicopter transportable hyperbaric diver rescue system, manipulator arms for NASA space training programs, equipment and tubular components for offshore and deep well oil and gas production, medical devices, and components of U.S. nuclear submarines have been built by Titanium Fabrication Corporation.

Titanium Fabrication has built solid Titanium and Zirconium welded mechanical equipment weighing nearly 200,000 pounds, over 130 ft in length, over 20 feet in diameter, and has welded sections of 8 inches in thickness.

Titanium Fabrication works closely with equipment manufacturers where Titanium or Zirconium is required for their proprietary equipment. The end user benefits from having their choice of equipment design with the added assurance of quality workmanship for the reactive metal. The equipment manufacturer benefits by avoiding the expense needed to develop and maintain Titanium capability in their own shop.

Titanium Fabrication Corporation also runs a comprehensive Metal Service Center business from our New Jersey and Montreal locations, making its inventory and international purchasing capabilities available to customers who need quick delivery or who can take advantage of special cutting and other preprocessing needs.
